The People’s Talmud enters the classroom

We are happy to announce that the school year of 2017/18 saw the first People’s Talmud course. The two semester program worked with American Jewish students (okay, so one was from Brazil) between the ages of 18 – 21. For most of the students it was their first encounter with Talmud and for those that had been exposed to Talmud it was their first positive encounter (their words, not ours)!
Our students came away with a more comprehensive and positive, uplifting experience of understanding the breadth and wisdom of the Talmud, more so than many people who spend years in the classic Yeshiva studying Talmud. We hope their excitement will be contagious and spread to other Jewish educational programs.
